What is Tumbaga?
Tumbaga is a traditional metal alloy with deep roots in pre-Columbian Latin American metalwork. Historically, it is primarily an alloy of:
Copper (Cu) + Gold (Au)
with Silver (Ag) sometimes present in smaller or varying amounts.
There is no single fixed percentage that defines all Tumbaga. Historical compositions varied substantially depending on the artisan, region and desired color or properties. Modern scientific research likewise describes Tumbaga as predominantly copper and gold, sometimes with silver.
Its copper-rich composition gives Tumbaga its characteristic warm golden appearance, strength and beautifully artisanal character.

Natural Gemstone Collection
Available designs include Tiger Eye, Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli, Mother-of-Pearl, Pink Mother-of-Pearl, Goldstone and other gemstone variations in the collection.
Natural materials may vary slightly in color, veining, pattern and inclusions. Those variations are part of what makes each piece unique.
Care
Because Tumbaga contains copper, its color may naturally deepen or develop a patina with wear and exposure to the environment. Keep dry, avoid perfumes and harsh chemicals, and store separately when not in use. Polish gently with a soft jewelry cloth.
